Showery conditions are expected in the north and west through the day, perhaps wintry on hills across Scotland in particular. Many areas though having a mainly dry day with some bright or sunny spells after a chilly start with some frost and icy patches in places. Remaining rather chilly, highs 3C to 7C.
 


Friday Night
It will become increasingly unsettled across more southern and south-western areas of England and Wales into Friday evening with wet and windy conditions developing. Drier, clearer and colder in the north for most of Friday night but with wet and windy weather likely move northwards across much of England and Wales on Friday night. Temperatures 0C to 3C in the north 3C to 8C in the south.


Saturday
An unsettled day at the moment with rain and drizzle moving northwards, perhaps turning wintry across higher ground of Scotland and perhaps the Pennines. Showery conditions are then likely to follow in to more southern and south-western areas of England and Wales later in the day, locally heavy with thunder. A breezy day, chilly in the north but much milder than of late across England and Wales. Highs at 2C to 5C in Scotland, 8C to 13C across England and Wales.


Sunday
Morning rain is likely across central and northern areas of Scotland, perhaps still wintry on hills, but this slowly clearing. For most of the British Isles a day of sunshine and showers are expected on Sunday, these locally heavy and thundery in the south and west, but with some decent drier and sunnier intervals in-between. Mild for many areas, highs 8C to 13C.
