A mostly cloudy day to come across many parts of the UK and Ireland. Periods of rain affecting western Scotland and Ireland where it will be windy too. Drizzly periods of rain in northern England, Wales and eastern Scotland. A dry start to the day across southern and eastern England with some sunny spells here. This afternoon sees patchy rain and drizzle slipping into northern England, Wales, southwest England and the Midlands. Southern and eastern England tending to stay dry. Moe showery and brighter weather follows into western Scotland and Northern Ireland where it will be breezy too. Highs at 15C in southeast England, 8 to 12C elsewhere.

Cloud and drizzle overnight in Ireland and northern England as well as southern Scotland. Showers in western Scotland are likely to be turning moe persistent during the early hours. Further periods of showers and rain affecting northern Scotland too. Southern and central parts of England and Wales should be dry with broken cloud. Lows at 3 to 7C.

A moist westerly flow across Ireland and the UK on Friday. Fronts brings rain and strong winds across Ireland and northern England as well as southern Scotland. Damp for the west and north of Wales too. Drier across southern and eastern England with a few bright spells in central areas. Heavy showers across northern and western Scotland. Tops at 6C in northern Scotland, 13C in southern England.

Low pressure north of the UK and Ireland on Saturday, low pressure to the south. It stays cloudy and breezy through much of Ireland, England, Wales and southern Scotland. Tending to become brighter in more sheltered eastern and southern areas. Scotland is likely to be brighter with sunny spells and some heavy showers here. Temperatures at 7C in northern Scotland, 13C in southern England.
