Wednesday
An area of rain affecting southeast England this morning, becoming heavy at times as it moves eastwards before clearing the coasts later this afternoon. Some showers for western Scotland, Ireland, west Wales and western England, these edging eastwards into this afternoon. There are likely to be remaining scattered for most but some heavy ones could break out in the west. Sunny spells elsewhere. Temperatures staying cool in Sotland at 3 to 5C, but milder to the south at 10C.


Wednesday Night
Bands of showers passing eastwards through tonight. Most of these affecting Wales, western Scotland and southern England. The showers could be heavy at times and will be merging to longer spells of rain and sleet in central and western Scotland, some snow on the hills. Further showers affecting much of Ireland too. Some places will be remaining dry throughout the night with clear spells. Lows at -5C over the snow field of Scotland, 0C in northern England but 5C in the cloudier areas of southern England.


Thursday
Low pressure dominates the weather across the UK and Ireland on Thursday. Overnight rain should be leaving eastern England around daybreak. Showers over western coasts of England and Wales, but becoming drier and brighter for most other areas, although rain in the far north of Scotland. The afternoon sees a mix of sunshine and showers for much of England and Wales, with some rain in northwest Scotland and Northern Ireland.Rain may affect the far northeast of England too. Scattered showers for Ireland. Highs at 4C in northern Scotland, 10C in southern England.


Friday
Low pressure is again in control of conditions across the UK and Ireland on Friday. Wet weather arrives in the far south of England and Wales during the day, the rain becoming steadier towards evening. Drier for most other areas with some sunny spells, although there may just be an odd wintry showers over the western Highlands and southern Uplands. Feeling slightly cooler with temperatures at 4 to 8C and a southeast breeze picking up in the south.
