Cloudier south

Issued: 0530hrs Tuesday 14th March 2017
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Cloudy south and west but brighter east, windier and showery Scotland

Good morning,

It's going to be a mostly cloudy day across much of Ireland, Wales and southern England today. Most of the cloud tending to be in moe western areas and it is here where there could be some outbreaks of mainly light rain and drizzle. Eastern areas are likely to be seeing the cloud breaking with some bright or sunny spells coming through.

Showers in northern and western Scotland and windier here as well. There is a risk of gales, some severe in the north. More eastern and southern parts of Scotland should experience a brighter day with sunny spells and it should be dry too. Mostly dry and bright in much of central and northern Ireland, although the cloud thickening as the day progresses.

Staying cloud in Ireland, England and Wales tonight with drizzle across western coasts and hills. Drier for most of Scotland although staying showers and breezy in the far north.
