Morning Call - March 09, 2017
Mostly dry south
Morning showers north

Issued: 0530hrs Thursday 9th March 2017
Duty forecaster: Simon Keeling

Generally dry and mild in the south but some morning showers in a breezier, cooler Scotland

Good morning,

Take a brolly if you are out and about in western and northern Scotland in the next few hours as further heavy showers are likely. Hold on tight though because the stiff northwest breeze will take until this afternoon to ease. A tendency for the showers to fade away into this afternoon in Scotland with some decent spells of sunshine developing.

Cloudy skies for southern Ireland and the far south of England with some fog affect hills and coasts hills. Tending to be brighter the further north you head with the best of any bright or sunny spells in the Midlands and northeast England. Feeling mild in the south too.

Some patchy rain and drizzle slips into southern Ireland and the far southwest of England this afternoon, this enhancing the fog over the hills and coasts. Staying dry and mild in more central and northern areas and feeling mild in any sunshine.
