Cooler with sunshine and showers, wintry on hill

Good morning,

A brighter morning for many of us when compared to yesterday. There will be some reasonable spells of sunshine in many central, southern and eastern areas at first this morning. However, do expect cloud to bubble up and showers to develop later, most of them over high ground with many areas staying dry.

Further west there is a higher risk of showers this morning, some of them heavy. It may be that the showers are wintry over the hills, especially in Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. Feeling cold in the wind too.

Tonight sees a band of heavier shower and rain crossing Wales and England. This falling as snow on the hills of Wales and northern England with gusty winds.
