Wind and rain spreads across northern Europe and the Baltic


Saturday
High influences western Europe, extending into the western Mediterranean, bringing plenty of sunshine for Spain, Portugal and much of France. Hot for south-western Iberia, over 30C in places. Nearer 20C for eastern Spain and southern France. Dry weather for Italy and the Alps, also Hungary. Low pressure centred over Greece brings heavy rain and thunder, which also extends across Bulgaria and Romania.
A strong westerly breeze for northern Europe, with frontal rain for Belgium and the Netherlands, extending increasingly into northern Germany. Cool at 11 to 13C. Wet for Denmark and later southern Sweden. Northern regions will be brighter, but with local bands of showery rain, and snow over the mountains. Showery for the Baltic states. Largely dry for Poland and most of eastern Europe, but rain arrives from the west into the evening and night, plus gusty winds.


Sunday
Staying dry and warm for Spain and Portugal, with temperatures again 30C in the west & south-west of Iberia. 22 to 25C in the east of Spain, also the French Riviera. Dry with sunshine for Italy, Greece and the Balkans. Thundery rain for the Black Sea coasts, but will tend to clear from most of Romania.
A front trails across central Europe, bringing outbreaks of rain to Poland, the Czech Republic, and much of Germany. Showery rain for the Low Countries and also the Alps. Fairly cloudy for central & northern France, with a little rain. Low pressure centred over the Baltic brings strong winds and persistent rain to eastern Sweden, southern Finland and the Baltic states. Meanwhile, much of Scandinavia will be dry, bright but cool, 7 to 11C. Northern Norway see a few showers, snow over the mountains.
